Tour Plan

1
Day 1: Explore "Little Rome" in Negombo
Welcome to Sri Lanka! Your journey will begin in Negombo, which is known as “Little Rome” due to its strong Catholic influence. The town has gone through Dutch, Portuguese, and British colonial rule, and the remnants of those cultures exist today. As you walk past colonial architecture and serene canals, the city's intriguing past will reveal itself to you. You'll eventually reach a lagoon that is teeming with marine life, where local fishermen have been catching lobsters, crabs, and prawns for centuries. Take a leisurely stroll on the beach, and then head to the lively fish market before taking a break for dinner.
2
Day 2: Discover the Ancient Rock Fortress of Sigiriya
Start your day with a delicious breakfast at your hotel and then head over to the ancient rock fortress of Sigiriya, which was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982. Some have even named it the eighth wonder of the world. The name Sigiriya means "Lion Rock" in English, and it is believed that visitors used to enter the monument by passing through the open jaws and throat of a lion. Unfortunately, the only remains of this lion figure today are the huge paws sculpted into the rock. Rising high above the jungle, the fortress is a magnificent sight to behold.

Day 3: Explore Temples in Dambulla & Kandy
After having breakfast, you can continue your journey to Dambulla. This town is known for its Cave  Temple, which is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The temple  features impressive mural paintings and 157 statues, including a massive Buddha monument. It is not  only a sacred pilgrimage site but also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a history dating back to the  first century BCE when King Valagambahu took refuge here. Visiting this place is definitely worth it,  not just for the cave temple, but also for the beautiful view over the surrounding countryside.  Next, you can proceed to Kandy, which is strategically located between three mountain ranges and is  home to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), another UNESCO World  Heritage Site. The impressive temple complex, dating back to the 16th century, is made up of  numerous buildings decorated with paintings and carvings depicting Buddha. As the name suggests,  the temple houses an important relic - the tooth of the Buddha, which is carefully guarded by  security day and night.

Day 4: Learn About Ceylon Tea Production
Start your day with a visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, right after breakfast. Once  the exclusive domain of royalty, it is now open to the public. The gardens boast of an impressive  collection of orchids, spice gardens, a majestic avenue of royal palms, a fascinating cannonball fruit  tree, and towering Burma bamboo. You can also witness the grandeur of the giant Javan fig tree,  with its colossal central trunk and umbrella-like canopy of branches.  After lunch, you will get to learn about one of Sri Lanka's primary exports, Ceylon tea. As you drive  through a tea plantation, you will see tea leaf-pickers in their colorful attire working hard on the  steep hills, displaying incredible dexterity as they fill several sacks of tea leaves each day. This  dedicated tour will give you a glimpse of the entire tea-making process, from the tea bush to your  teapot.

Day 5: Spot Wildlife in Yala National Park
After having breakfast in the morning, you can make a quick stop at Ella to visit the Rawana Ella Waterfalls. After that, take a break for lunch before heading to Yala National Park. Located in the southeast region of the country, it's the second-largest national park in Sri Lanka. It was designated as a wildlife sanctuary in 1900, and it's home to a wide variety of wildlife that you'll have the chance to see today on a Jeep safari. The leopards are the stars here, but the park is also home to large herds of elephants, spotted deer, sambar, wild boar, wild buffaloes, sloth bears, jackals, and mongooses. The birdlife is also fantastic, with numerous species such as rosy starlings, paradise flycatchers, crested hawk eagles, blue-tailed bee-eaters, and common loras inhabiting the area. Spend the night in a tented safari campsite before continuing your trip.

Day 6 & 7 : Go Whale-Watching off the Coast of Mirissa
After breakfast at your hotel, you will proceed to Mirissa. The transfer time is approximately 3 hours  and 30 minutes. After the whale  watching, you will return to the hotel and travel to Bentota. You will visit the Sea Turtle Hatchery &  Rescue Center and later visit Galle Dutch Fort. The fort, located in the Bay of Galle on the southwest  coast of Sri Lanka, was built first in 1588 by the Portuguese and then extensively fortified by the  Dutch during the 17th century from 1649 onwards.   After the visit to Galle Dutch Fort, you will return to Mirissa and leisure at a beach resort. Overnight  stay will be at Mirissa

There are  also beautiful and rustic houses and shops built in the Dutch colonial style, and narrow lanes paved  neatly with cobblestone dating back in time.  Later in the afternoon, we will visit Unawatuna, which is considered one of the best beaches in the  world. The calm waters of Unawatuna Bay and Thalpe offer a chance to relax, sunbathe, go for a long  walk on the beautiful beach, or dive into the still waters.
